Pentecost Fun Facts

How well do you know what Pentecost is? Here are some fun facts.

 

  • Pentecoste is the Greek word for “fiftieth”.
  • The celebration falls fifty days after Easter.
  • The first Pentecost is considered the birth of the Catholic Church.
  • The first Pentecost also took happened on 33 AD. Today we are in the year 2018 AD, making the Church exactly 1,985 years old!
  • This day, the Holy  Spirit, “the Helper” has been sent and  has been the guide of the Church since then. Assuring that “the gates of hell shall not prevail against” the Church built on Peter the Rock
