DRIVEN Series 2017

On June 23, 2017, Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon-Cebu began its Driven Series (a Christian Life Series) which is a presentation of Catholic Christian teachings through series of talks. The series was since held every Friday at the 2nd floor of West Gorordo Hotel, Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City.

Aiming to evangelize more single professionals and help them attain the fullness of life through Jesus Christ, the series was designed for the participants to first, listen to talks and testimonies, and have a short discussion of insights together with their respective discussion groups. It was on the latter part that participants initially got a chance to build camaraderie with each other as they were able to relate, be inspired, and understand each one's spiritual journey through their sharing. And that bond was even strengthened further as participants and members have a fellowship to conclude the night's activity.

The 1st talk for the series tagged as "The Starting Line" highlighting God's Love was attended by a strong number of 31 participants and 33 members. Other topics presented for the entire series that was conducted in a span of nearly two months were Jesus and His Mission, What it Means to be a Christian?, The Power of the Holy Spirit, Repentance and Faith, Receiving the Power of the Holy Spirit, followed by the activity Outpouring of the Holy Spirit attended by a good number of participants, and was concluded with the talk tagged as "The Finish Line" which was about the Highest Calling. To present the said talks were powerful speakers who were former and current members of ALNP, each of them partnered with a current member of Lingkod Cebu who shared a testimony of God's work in their respective lives.

The continuing growth of the participants and the members was evident in every session as each talk leaves them with something new to ponder. Indeed the entire Driven Series was a fruitful journey for it allowed everyone to have a room in their selves to reflect about topics such as who Jesus really is in their personal lives, and what response to give Him, and how to truly repent and strengthen the faith. Misconceptions of being a Christian was not left behind for it was also clarified in the series, so as the third persona in the Trinity and the power and gifts it has for us.

One of the highlights of the series was the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit held at Betania Retreat House in Lahug, Cebu City. It was done on the weekend before the series was concluded with the talk entitled The Highest Calling held on the 11th of August. As a concluding talk of the series, the 5 Spokes of Christian life was presented as a reminder to everyone that being Christian needs to be lived with the ideal that is modeled after Jesus Christ.
